CGIN membership levels

CGIN has two categories of membership:

Primary membership is open to any retail food co-op interested in sharing or exchanging information and resources and willing to support the purposes of the organization.

In order to be eligible to join CGIN, a retail food co-op must be and remain a member in good standing of either or both of the following organizations:

  • National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA) or
  • National Cooperative Grocers Association (NCGA).

Primary members pay an annual fee to CGIN based on its financial needs and plans. In 2010 the annual fee for primary members is $200.

Associate membership is open to any other non-retail professional association or individual engaged in professional support of food co-ops that is interested in supporting the aims and purpose of CGIN. Associate members must be and remain members of NCBA and pay annual dues to CGIN: $350 per organization; $150 per individual. For more information regarding NCBA membership, please contact Adam Schwartz.

All membership fees or dues are assessed and payable on a calendar year basis. To negotiate special rates for joining after July 1st of a year, contact CGIN.
